Introduction to Jewish History
Beginning with a survey of historical and Biblical writings, this course explores the characteristics of Judaism, traces the historic and modern development of the Jewish nation, and considers how it impact events in our current day. Content includes the most common beliefs of Judaism, major events and characters from Abraham to the present day, the rise and development of Christianity and Islam, and how events in the Biblical era continue to impact the 20th and 21st centuries. RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: REL 1223.
